About us

NK Zagreb 041 was founded at the end of 2014 on the initiative of part of the Bijeli anđeli supporters’ group, dissatisfied with the state of Croatian football and with football drifting away from its supporters. The club was founded with the idea of giving football back to the people – as a sport built on solidarity, togetherness and respect.

From the very beginning we have been building a club run by its members and supporters, on the principles of direct democracy, equality and shared decision-making. We oppose corruption, clientelism, discrimination and the logic of modern football that pulls the sport away from the community.

NK Zagreb 041 is more than a football club. It is a community of people who believe football can and must be different – open, supportive and accessible to everyone. We build our story together, on and off the pitch.

How do we work?

NK Zagreb 041 is organised on the principles of direct democracy. This means members take an equal part in deciding on every important club matter, from sporting activities to finances, on the principle of one member – one vote.

We have no president and no board deciding on behalf of the membership. The club’s highest body is the Assembly, while the Council coordinates work between assemblies. Day-to-day tasks are taken on by working groups that bring members together according to their interests and the club’s needs.

We believe a football club should be built by the people who make it. That is why we nurture shared responsibility, transparency and active member participation in creating the club we want.
